We allow ten to fifteen minutes for a standard appointment.  We try very hard to run to time but delays occur for several reasons, including:-

·                     one or more patients take more time than allowed for
·                     a patient arrives late
·                     an emergency occurs

Emergencies, of course, have to be dealt with immediately but many other delays can be avoided by proper planning.

Do you need extra time with your Doctor? 

This is often difficult to guess but you will probably need a double appointment if:-

·                     you have more than two simple problems to be discussed
·                     you require a medical examination for insurance, employment or driving purposes
·                     you are having a minor surgical procedure
·                     you have difficult complex personal problems to discuss

If you are kept waiting more than 20 minutes please tell the Reception staff. A quick phone call to check if your Doctor is on time or delayed could help save you unnecessary waiting time.  

Some of our Doctors are fully booked with others wanting appointments. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please ring and cancel your appointment as soon as possible to enable the appointment to be given to another patient.  Remember - next time it may be you waiting for a cancellation.  If appointments are not cancelled with due notice, a “failure to attend” charge may be made
